چکیده
ABSTRACT Introduction: This work aimed to study dosimetrically compare 6MV, 10MV and dual energies (DE) photon beam in liver cancer, evaluating the effect of using different on intensity-modulated radiation (IMR) outcome were selected.IMRT treatment plans Identical optimization constraints applied for all energy plans. The parameters like angle, number beams, kept constant achieve same clinical objectives. Both qualitative quantitative methods used. many physical indices Planning Target Volume (PTV), relevant Organs at Risk (OARs) as mean dose (Dmean), maximum (Dmax), 95% (D95), integral dose, total segments, and also monitor unit (MU) applied. Materials methods: 28 virtual IMRT planning involved this study. Step-and-shoot designed. Plans depended Monaco (IMRT) plan outcome. For each case, three with geometry created 6 MV, 10 MV DE. plans, cases optimized identical objectives normalized such 98% target received 100% prescription dose. Results: techniques showed comparable PTV inhomogeneity conformity patient’s differences within median values <0.6%10 DE additionally a statistically important reduction units 14.2% (p <0.01) 13.3% compared respectively. Conclusion: Each dual had similar dosimetry characteristics.

Dosimetric Comparison of 3D Tangential Radiotherapy of Post-Lumpectomy Breast at Two Different Energies
Introduction: Radiation therapy following breast conserving surgery is one of the most common procedures performed in any radiation oncology department. A tangential parallel-opposed pair is almost always the technique of choice for this purpose. This technique is often performed based on 3D treatment planning. The aim of this study was to compare 3D treatment planning for two different energie...
متن کاملDosimetric Evaluation of a Simple Planning Technique for Improving Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy for Nasopharyngeal Cancer
PURPOSE To evaluate the dosimetric outcomes of a simple planning technique for improving intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) for nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC). METHODS For 39 NPC cases, generally acceptable original plans were generated and were improved by the two planning techniques, respectively: (1) a basal-dose-compensation (BDC) technique, in which the treatment plans were re-optimize...
متن کاملEvaluation of Thyroid Gland Irradiation in Women with Breast Cancer during Radiotherapy with different Radiation Energies at Supraclavicular Region
Introduction: During treatment of breast cancer, Radiotherapy to the Supraclavicular fossa region results in absorption of radiation by the thyroid gland and consequently leads to hypothyroidism in 40% of patients. The aim of this study was to compare thyroid gland radiation absorption during radiotherapy with different anterior-posterior beam radiation of 6-15 and 15-15 MV pho...
متن کامل3-Dimensional conformal radiotherapy versus intensity modulated radiotherapy for localized prostate cancer: Dosimetric and radiobiologic analysis
Background: To analyze the dosimetric and radio biologic advantages between intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and 3 dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT) and selection of optimal photon energy for IMRT treatments. Material and methods: 24 patients with localized prostate carcinoma were planned for 3DCRT and IMRT techniques. Radiation dose of 54 Gy with 2 Gy/fraction, was planned to ...
متن کاملComparing of different normal tissue complication probability models for plan evaluation of radical radiotherapy for esophageal cancer
Introduction: Chemoradiation is a well-established protocol for management of localized esophageal cancer. However, some early and late toxicities are associated with this therapy. Plan evaluation in term of normal tissue complication probability (NTCP) may help clinicians to tailor this therapy more individually. Given the variety of present radiobiological models, the choice...
